Chinese Residents' Income Gap and Countermeasures

中国在经济取得巨大成就的同时,也存在着居民收入差距过大的问题,表现为基尼系数偏高,地区、城乡以及行业间收入差距明显。其原因是非公有制经济过度膨胀、教育资源配置不平等、个人所得税税收制度不健全、利己主义和享乐主义思潮泛起等。为实现社会公平,有必要在国家、政府和个人层面提出解决措施。

While the socialist market economy with Chinese characteristics has achieved great achievements, China also has a problems of large gap in residents＇ income, which is manifested by the high Gene coefficient, and the obvious income gap between different regions, urban and rural areas and different industries. The reasons are the excessive expansion of the non-public economy, the unequal allocation of educational resources, the unsound system of personal income tax, the spread of egoism and hedonism. In order to achieve social equity, measures should be taken at the national, governmental and individual levels.
