SHEN Yingsen's “Cycle Flow of One Qi” Theory in Treating Allergic Rhinitis

清代黄元御《四圣心源》"一气周流"理论构建了一个中土翰旋、土枢四象、一气周流的生理结构模式。肺开窍于鼻,六气从化中由太阴湿土所主。沈英森教授认为鼻病源于土湿胃逆、浊气填塞而致肺气不降,一气不能正常周流。据此复法组方治疗过敏性鼻炎,以运中利湿、疏通一气周流道路为法,自创敏宁方,引导一气回归原路周流,常获良效。

In the Qing Dynasty,＂Cycle Flow of One Qi＂theory in HUANG Yuanyu＇s Interpretation of Hearts of Four Medical Sage（ 《四圣心源》） constructed a physiological structure model of central mainland mediation,earth pivot four images,and cycle flow of one qi. The lungs open the orifices to the nose,and the six qi are governed by taiyin dampness earth through transformation. Professor SHEN Yingsen believes that the nasal diseases originate from the earth dampness and stomach qi counterflow,turbid qi filling,which causes the lung qi failing to flow downward,and the one qi cannot flow in cycle normally. According to this method,the compound prescription is used to treat allergic rhinitis. Based on the principle of transporting middle and draining dampness,and unblocking the cycle path of one qi flow,Minning Recipe（ 敏宁方） is self-created to guide the return of one qi to the original path,and with good results.
