万源是川陕苏区最早建立苏维埃的县 ,也是为数不多的全境解放的县之一。万源苏维埃和万源人民为中国人民的解放事业 ,作出了前所未有的牺牲和无与伦比的贡献 :一是为入川红军在通、南、巴站稳脚根发挥了重要作用 ;二是使红军在宣达战役中势如破竹 ;三是确保取得了“万源保卫战”

Wanyuan,the earliest soviet-established county in the region of Chuan-Shan-Soviet, was one of the few wholly liberated counties. The Wanyuan soviet and Wanyuan people made unprecedented sacrifice and incomparable contributions for the Chinese liberation cause. First, they played an important part in Red Army's consolidation in the counties of Tongjiang, Nanjiang, and Bazhong. Second, they contributed a lot to the Red Army's triumph in the battle of Xuan-Da. Last, they ensured the great victory in the protection war of Wanyuan.
