The Joanna Briggs Institute(JBI)is an international,membership based research and development organization at the University of Adelaide.The Institute specializes in promoting and supporting evidence-based healthcare by providing access to resources for professionals in nursing,midwifery,medicine,and allied health.In November 2016,the institute developed 13 critical appraisal tools for systematic reviews.This article focused on introducing the critical appraisal tool for analytical study including cohort study and case control study.The tools can help researcher evaluate the methodological quality of analytical study from sampling,identification of exposure,control of confounding factors,follow-up,and measurement of outcomes.
