《明清进士题名碑录索引》进士人名刊误——以明代湖北籍进士为例

Name Correction of the Jin Shi in the Index of Ming-Qing Jin Shi Ti Ming Bei Lu——the Case of Hubei in the Ming Dynasty

《明清进士题名碑录索引》是研究者经常使用的一部工具书,其中存在诸多错误。就其中所记明代湖北进士而言,便存在人名讹误、一人误为两人、漏载等错误。致误原因一是编制《明清进士题名碑录索引》的原始文献有误,《明清进士题名碑录索引》编者缺乏必要的考证,沿袭了其中的错误;二是原始文献无误,编者疏于考校,在编制《明清进士题名碑录索引》、补录进士时增加了新的错误。考订文献,纠正文献资料中的错误,本身是一项有意义的学术研究工作,同时也能让相关的学术研究扎根于科学的文献资料基础之上。

The Index of Ming-Qing Jin Shi Ti Ming Bei Lu(hereinafter short for Index)is a reference book often used by researchers,which exists many mistakes however.Taking Hubei Jinshi in Ming Dynasty as an example,mistakes include name errors,different names of one person misinterpreted as two,omissions of names of Jinshi.The first reason for these mistakes is that the original documents of the Index were wrong,and the editors failed to do the textual research and inherited the mistakes.Second,there was nothing wrong with the original documents,but the editors neglected to take the collation leading to new mistakes when compiling the Index and adding names of the Jinshi.It is a meaningful academic research work to examine and correct mistakes in literature,and meanwhile,it can make the relevant academic researches take root in the scientific literature.
