Objective To compare the clinical efficacy of one-time root canal and multiple root canal therapy in the treatment of dental pulp disease. Methods A retrospective study of 143 patients with dental pulp disease who underwent root canal treatment from February 2016 to March 2018 was convenient selected as the study group. Radiation tube therapy was performed in 71 patients and 72 cases in the study group (one-time root canal therapy). The clinical efficacy and complications of the two groups were compared. Results After treatment, the total effective rate of the study group (93.06%) was higher than that of the control group (80.28%)(χ^2=4.921, P<0.05). The average time of pain disappeared after treatment in the study group (1.98± 0.29) d and shorter than the control group (2.19±0.20) d (t=3.017, P<0.05), the average treatment time (3.66±2.07) d in the study group was shorter than the control group (10.24±3.97)d (t=7.833, P<0.05);The total incidence of complications such as pain, gum swelling, and occlusion in the study group was (5.56%) lower than in the control group(16.90%)(χ^2=4.631, P<0.05). Conclusion The clinical efficacy of one-time root canal treatment for dental pulp disease is better than that of multiple root canal treatment, which can reduce the time required for treatment and has good safety. It is worthy of popularization and application.
