The importance of tension control in treating ramie woven fabric with liquidammonia is discussed.The authors plotted a series of curves about the shrinkage of ramiewoven fabric subjected liquid ammonia treatment under varying tension.The effect of liq-uid ammonia treatment under slack and tight tension on the mechanical properties and dye-ing behaviour of ramie woven fabric is investigated.
