Study On Einstein′s Thoughts about Scientists

根据爱因斯坦对科学的论述,可以把爱因斯坦的科学家概念,定义为“用系统的思维,通过感觉经验,构造实在的规律性关系的思想活动的人”。科学家承担的是人类大脑的职能,他们用创造性的智力劳动成果,推动着人类社会的发展以及人类物质和精神生活的改善。由于科学研究是对黑暗的未知世界的探索,有价值的科学发现具有巨大的偶然性,因而科学家可以作为一种社会角色,却不宜作为谋生的职业。科学家的生存,既要有高度自由的社会环境的保障,也要有优裕的物质生活条件的滋养。爱因斯坦所说的科学家的社会责任,是指“作为学者和世界公民”的科学家的社会责任,而不是被学术界泛化了的那种社会责任。这是一种有限的社会责任。

According to Einstein,scientists can be defined as thinkers who construct actual relationships through systematic thoughts and experience of feeling.Scientists,functioning as mankind's brain,promote the development of mankind society and the improvement of physical and spiritual lives through their creative intellectual activities.Scientists usually make exploration in the unknown world and the valuable scientific findings are usually achieved accidentally.Scientist can be a social career,but it should not be viewed as a career for living.The improvement and development of scientists rely on highly free social environment and are based on abundant material conditions.According to Einstein,the social responsibilities shouldered by scientists are those shouldered as a scholar or a world citizen,rather than those generalized by the academic circle.Therefore,they are limited social responsibilities.
