中国文学外译:困境与出路

Chinese literature translation:Challenges and ways for breakthrough

当下一些研究对中国文学外译秉持悲观消极的观点,并从文学译介传统、中西小说差异、英译小说诗学等方面摆出了中国文学外译所面临的主要困境。本文在剖析相关困境之症结的基础上,追本溯源,提出了"以我方为主"、"树立自信"、掌握中国文学外译话语权、构建中国文学外译话语系统等"破困"之举。

Quite a lot of studies on the translation of Chinese literature into the English world have come up with pessimistic or negative conclusions and they primarily attributed this attitude to the"challenges"with which the translated Chinese literature has been presumably faced,i.e.,the traditional path of translated literatures,the differences between Chinese and English novel genre,and the poetics of the translated Chinese novel. By pinpointing the fault with the afore-mentioned three arguments,this paper proposes for breakthroughs to be made in the translation of Chinese literature,i.e.,to be self-centred and confident,to take hold of the power of utterance,to create a Chinese discourse of literary translation.
