“双一流”大学校长的群体特征、比较劣势与优化策略

The Group Characteristics,Comparative Disadvantages and Optimization Strategies of Presidents in“Double World-class”Universities

以2017年教育部公布的“双一流”大学校长群体为研究对象,采用数理统计法对该群体进行分析。研究显示,“双一流”大学的绝大多数校长是52~62岁的汉族男性中共党员;籍贯主要分布在东部地区和中西部发达省份;普遍具有开阔的国际视野,“校缘”关系明显;研究方向集中在工学、理学、经济学和医学等领域,普遍具有博士学位和高级职称,且以拥有博导头衔的学术精英为主体;大多数大学校长拥有丰富的大学管理经验,熟悉现就职高校情况;新任职和任职周期在1~5年的校长比例高。与中国近代大学以及世界一流大学的校长相比,“双一流”大学校长在任职年龄、任职周期、性别结构、学缘关系、学历结构、学科归属等方面还存在一定的劣势。因此,国家在“双一流”战略持续推进的过程中,应更加注重发挥大学校长的积极作用,明确大学校长的任职标准。

The Ministry of Education published the list of“Double World-class”universities in 2017.Taking the presidents of these universities as the research object,this paper analyses the current president group of these universities by mathematical statistics.The research shows that the president group's characteristics:the vast majority of presidents are 52 to 62-year-old Han male member of Communist Party of China;their native places is mainly distributed in eastern region and developed provinces of the Central and Western regions;they generally have an open international perspective and“school kinship”relationship obviously;their researches focus on the fields of engineering,science,economics and medicine;most of them are academic elites with PhD,senior professional titles with doctoral supervisors as the main body of the group;Most university presidents have a wealth of experience in university management,they are very familiar with the universities they are managing;high proportion of these presidents with new appointments and 1-5 years'term.Compared with the presidents of universities before the new China and the world-class universities,the current presidents of the“Double World-class”universities still have certain disadvantages in terms of their working age,service period,gender structure,school kinship relations,academic structure and discipline structure etc.Therefore,in the process of promoting national strategy of“Double World-class”,we should pay more attention to the positive role of the principal of the university presidents and make clear the standard of the university presidents.
