Urban Theory in The German Ideology and Its Contemporary Revelation

There is rich urban thought in The German Ideology written by Marx and Engels.They argued the fundamental reasons for the existence and development of cities from the perspective of production mode,and pointed out that the existence of cities based on human beings with"Person in Reality"as its premise,and the practical activities of"Person in Reality"were the source of urban development.They also emphasized that cities originated from the social division of labor,capital was the accelerator of urbanization,and the basic relationship in urban development was that between urban and rural areas.The basic principles inherent in these thoughts of The German Ideology,in terms of improving the function of urban services,constructing the pattern of urban division,and even solving the capital problem of urbanization should be adhered to and insisted on for the development of China′s new-model urbanization in the new times.
