Bowls with rolled rim can be taken as an example to examine the southward spread of white porcelain and the origin and spread of Qingbai ware(greenish white porcelain) from a micro perspective. The spread path of bowls with rolled rim indicates that the early Qingbai wares did have received influence from white porcelains of the North. Qingbai ware is believed to have originated from the South Anhui and Jiangxi, and spread to areas including Hubei, Guangxi, Guangdong, Zhejiang, and Fujian. The Southern Song Dynasty witnessed no existence of bowls with rolled rim. In the late Song and early Yuan times, the greenish tone of Qingbai ware was no more prominent and the white porcelain of the south entered a new era.
