中华典籍外译与传播的立体经纬多层结构范式研究——以《英语世界的<易经>研究》(2018)为例

Toward the Paradigm of Tri-dimensionally Diachronic&Synchronic Multilayer Structure for the Study of Translation and Dissemination of Chinese Classics:A Case Study of A Study of the Book of Changes in the English World(2018)

中华典籍在异域旅行不是直线,也不是平面,而是由最初的一个点,籍由漫长的译介与传播过程,渐成立体经纬多层复杂结构。本文以李伟荣著《英语世界的<易经>研究》(2018)为例,从其研究内容、研究方法、篇章结构和中华典籍译介与传播研究几个方面,提出中华典籍外译与传播研究的立体经纬多层结构范式——既需历时纵向译介史研究,也需分层对中华典籍与国外文学、文化、思想进行横向共时互动关系研究,还需对外译传播过程的变异行为进行本体和成因探索。该著的意义不仅在于全面系统地梳理了《易经》在英语世界的外译和传播史,更在于其"一体两翼"的结构安排、"三个视角"的研究思路、层层建构,体现出立体经纬多层研究思想,为中华典籍的外译与传播研究提供了方法论参考。

Neither a straight line nor a plane is the path of Chinese classics’traveling in foreign cultures.Instead,it presents a complex tri-dimensionally multilayer structure through a long process of translation and dissemination from the initial point.Taking Li Weirong’s monograph A Study of the Book of Changes in the English World(2018)as an example,this paper proposes a paradigm of tri-dimensionally diachronic&synchronic multilayer structure for the study of the translation and dissemination of Chinese classics from the perspectives of its research contents,research methods,textual structure and translation and dissemination of Chinese classics.This paradigm covers not only the diachronic study of history of translation and introduction,but also the study of the synchronic interaction between Chinese classics and foreign literatures,cultures and ideologies at different levels as well as the ontology and causes of the variation in the process of translation and dissemination.The significance of the book lies not only in a comprehensive and systematic review and construction of the history of the translation and dissemination of the Book of Changes in the English world,but also in its structural arrangement of"one body,two wings","three perspectives"and construction from different levels,reflecting research ideas of tri-dimensionally diachronic&synchronic multilayer structure,providing a method for the study of the translation and dissemination of Chinese classics in the future.
