Teplator-an Innovative Nuclear District Heating System

As the European Union is gradually going away from coal as an energy source,alternatives are being sought actively and urgently for district heating system. Natural gas could be one of them,while with higher cost.A team of scientists,led by professor Radek Skoda,at the Czech Technical University in Prague and the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen have come up with an innovative solution,the Teplator,a radical solution to heat cities by using spent nuclear rods. They have determined that it is cost-effective and greener than natural gas.
