Nevertheless, the consciousness of individuality, awareness of unexpected development and objection to alienation embodied in Can Xue’s works resonate with Chuang Tzu’s Taoist Thought, which enriches readers’ interpretation. Despite the time and space, Can Xue still echoes with Chuang Tzu as they share the respect for life, concern for the living environment, and the alienation power in the material world.
