Discussion About Ministerial Fire Based on Ancient Chinese Medicine of Circular Movement

彭子益认为,相火乃人身生命之根本,逆伤不降,则根本气伤。温病、小儿麻疹、时令病之暑热病等,根本为相火不能敛降内收。熬夜阴伤、湿热、情志郁郁者阴伤无以封藏而阳气浮越,有形之病理产物阻碍升降之路,乙木郁而不升从而影响甲乙两木之圆运动,圆运动不圆,相火不降。表现为右寸脉或寸关之间鼓动上冲,多见头痛、眠差、嗳气等,多用郁金、黄芩清降,白芍敛降,益智仁、砂仁温潜,龙骨、牡蛎重镇潜降;左不升者,视患者体质,配伍少量桂枝,以升发肝气;阴伤者,以增液汤为基础,加白芍、麦冬、玄参等,根据阴伤程度,选用即可;湿热者配以半夏、白术等运转枢轴兼以燥湿,竹叶等去湿热。

Peng Zi-yi believes that ministerial fire is the foundation of human life,and if counter-flow of qi does not fall,the fundamental qi will be injured.Warm diseases,children′s measles,summer heat of seasonal diseases,and so on are basically related to ministerial fire failing to astringe.Yin injury due to stay up late and yin injury due to dampness-heat,and emotional depression have no way to seal yin leading to yang qi floating.Tangible pathological products hinder the way of ascending and descending,and the stagnation of Yi wood does not ascend,thus affecting the round movement of the Jia and Yi wood.The round movement is not round,and the fire does not fall.The stagnant and non ascent of the second wood will affect the round movement of the first and second trees.The circular movement is not round and the ministerial fire does not descend.It is manifested as stirring up between the right wrist pulse or the inch-bar,and headache,poor sleep,belching,etc.can be seen,so Yujin(Radix Curcumae) and Huangqin(Radix Scutellariae) are often used for clear descending,Baishao(Radix Paeoniae Alba) for astringing descending,Yizhiren(Fructus Alpiniae Oxyphyllae) and Sharen(Fructus Amomi) for warm subduing,Longgu(Os Draconis) and Muli(Concha Ostreae) for subduing and descending with heavy settling medicinals.For those who do not rise left,according to the patient′s physique,a small amount of Guizhi(Ramulus Cinnamomi) should be combined to ascend liver qi.For those with yin injury,on the basis of Humor-Increasing Decoction,Baishao(Radix Paeoniae Alba),Maidong(Radix Ophiopogonis) and Xuanshen(Radix Scrophulariae),etc.can be added according to the degree of yin injury.For those with dampness-heat,Banxia(Rhizoma Pinelliae),Baizhu(Rhizoma Atractylodis Macrocephalae),etc.can be combined to rotate pivot and dry dampness,and Zhuye(Folium Phyllostachydis Henonis) for removing dampness and heat.
