自我客体化对女大学生体像满意度的影响:外貌比较的中介作用和自悯的调节作用

Effect of self-objectification on body image satisfaction in female college students:the mediating effect of physical appearance comparison and the modulating effect of self-compassion

目的考察外貌比较在自我客体化与女大学生体像满意度之间的中介作用,以及该过程是否受到自悯的调节。方法利用身体监视量表、体像满意度量表、外貌比较问卷及自悯量表对552名女大学生施测。结果①自我客体化负向预测女大学生的体像满意度(β=-0.35,t=-8.73,P<0.01);②外貌比较在自我客体化与体像满意度之间起部分中介作用;③自悯调节了外貌比较与女大学生体像满意度之间的关系(β=0.23,t=5.88,P<0.01),在高低自悯水平组中,外貌比较均负向预测体像满意度,但这种效应在低自悯组中更强。结论自我客体化是降低体像满意度的重要因素,而外貌比较是其重要的内在中介机制,且自悯对这一中介作用的后半路径起调节作用。

Objective To investigate the mediating effect of physical appearance comparison in between self-objectification and body image satisfaction among female college students,and whether this process is modulted by self-compassion.Methods A total of 552 female college students were surveyed by using the Body Surveillance scale,Body Image Satisfaction Scale,Physical Appearance Comparison Scale and Self-Compassion Scale.Results①Self-objectification negatively predicted body image satisfaction in the female college students(β=-0.35,t=-8.73,P<0.01).②Physical appearance comparison partially played a mediating role in between the self-objectification and body image satisfactionn.③Self-compassion modulated the relationship between the physical appearance comparison and body image satisfaction in the female college students(β=0.23,t=5.88,P<0.01).In students either with high or low self-compassion,physical appearance comparison negatively predicted body image satisfaction;such effect was significantly stronger in students with low self-compassion.Conclusion Self-objectification is an important factor to lower body image satisfaction,while physical appearance comparison plays an important mediating role in between,and self-compassion plays a modulating role in the second half of the mediating pathway.
