移动支付对老年群体消费影响的实证研究

An Empirical Study on the Impact of Mobile Payment on the Consumption of the Elderly

本文选取2016年和2018年中国家庭追踪调查(CFPS)数据,运用OLS、IV2SLS和PSM-DID探究了移动支付对老年群体消费的影响。研究发现:移动支付通过支付便利和孤独感机制能显著地促进老年群体的消费,但移动支付通过流动性约束机制对老年群体消费的影响不显著。进一步进行异质性分析发现,使用移动支付能促进老年群体的消费总量,且移动支付对老年群体消费的影响在年龄、城镇、东中西部地区具有异质性。为此,应积极引导老年人使用移动互联网进行娱乐、社交、消费活动,促进老年群体的消费。

This paper selects the data of 2016 and 2018 China Family Panel Studies(CFPS),and uses OLS,IV2SLS and PSM-DID to explore the impact of mobile payment on the consumption of the elderly.The study finds that mobile payment can significantly promote the consumption of the elderly through payment convenience and loneliness mechanism,but mobile payment has no significant impact on the consumption of the elderly through liquidity constraint mechanism.Further heterogeneity analysis finds that compared with the elderly who did not use mobile payment,the use of mobile payment can promote the total consumption of the elderly,and the impact of mobile payment on the consumption of the elderly is heterogeneous in age,urban,eastern,central and western regions.To this end,the elderly should be actively guided to use the mobile Internet for entertainment,social networking and consumption activities to promote the consumption of the elderly.
