教育体制改革是清末新政的重要内容 ,在此过程中 ,张之洞充当了一个重要的角色。张之洞在湖北学制的基础上 ,仿照日本学制 ,制定了一个全国性的新学制 ,即“癸卯学制” 。

Reform in the educational system was an important element in Xinzheng Reforms during the late Qing . Zhang Zhidong played an important role in this matter . Following Japan's school system , he worked out a national new school system , Guimao year's school system , which was on the basis of Hubei province's school system . It marked the beginning of modernization in Chinese educational system .
