摘要
本文以英语专业61名一年级和45名三年级学生为调查对象,采用问卷、词汇量测试、面谈等工具,探究英语专业学生词汇学习策略的总体倾向,出较高、低年级学生在策略运用上的异同。结果表明:1)英语专业学生广泛运用各种策略习得词汇;2)高、低年级学生在词汇学习策略的使用上存在较大差别;3)词汇学习策略与词汇量之间具有一定的相关性。
This paper reports an empirical study on various kinds of vocabulary learning strategies employed by the English majors at different proficiency levels in the Chinese context. The subjects were the first-year and third-year English majors from Yangzhou University, and the instruments adopted included a questionnaire, a vocabulary test and interviews. Detailed analysis of both the qualitative and quantitative data has yielded the findings as follows: 1) The English majors tend to adopt a variety of vocabulary learning strategies; 2 ) Subjects at different proficiency levels are found to be significantly different from each other in vocabulary learning strategies; 3) There exists a certain correlation between vocabulary learning strategies and vocabulary size.
