It is revealed the existence of hyd ro thermal activity in the sediment record based on analyzing paleo-geography bac kground and sedimentary environment at the Weng'an-Fuguan phosphorites deposi t of Doushantuo system of the Precambrian-Cambrian transitional period, using t he sedimentary and elemental geochemical methodology. The study reveals that the submarine hydrothermal eruption has something to do with the explosion of 'Wen g'an biota' and the formation of the phosphorites and has played an important role in marine biology blooming and phosphorus transportation, and that the dec omposition of bacterially mediated phosphorous and redox-mediated iron-phospha te cycling may lead to abundant stromatolite which absorbed dissolved phosphate in the anoxic and sub-oxic zones, and which were tran sported in rising sea-f luid then from seabed to the above redox floor to form phosphorite deposit.
