Work Hard to Construct Socialist Political Civilization with Chinese Characte ristics

中共十六大报告把发展社会主义民主政治、建设社会主义政治文明确定为全面建设小康社会的重要目标。社会主义政治文明有其科学内涵,中国特色社会主义政治文明有其重要内容,构建当代中国的政治文明应从坚持和完善人民代表大会制度、实现依法治国、加强和改进党内民主、加快行政改革、建立科学的干部选任机制等方面入手。

To develop socialist democratic politics and construct socialist poli tical civilization were defined as an important aim of building a comfortably-off society all-sidedly by the Chinese Communist Party on its 16th National Peo ple’s Congress. The socialist political civilization has its scientific connota tion, and the socialist political civilization with Chinese characteristics has its important contents. So to construct modern Chinese political civilization , we should start with sticking to and improving the people’s congress system、fu lfilling running a country according to law、strengthening and improving democra cy within the party、expediting administrative reform、and establishing scientif ic mechanism of selecting cadres so on.
