摘要
葫芦,曾经是母体的象征。中国民间送瓜求子的民俗行为,民间剪纸及刺绣出现的葫芦图案,民间乐器葫芦笙和葫芦歌舞,葫芦的原始功能,都具有祈生的意义。
Calabash gourd has been a symbol of female body in Chinese folk-custom. That people send a gourd to others, or embroider a gourd pattern, or play gourd-formed musical instrument sheng, or dance gourd dances, all these primordial functions of a gourd has an implication of praying for a child.
