以往的古代文学研究,往往停留在庸俗社会学、纯艺术论和文化背景等三个层面的浅表认识上,而其精髓在于对人生观、社会观、价值观、自然宇宙观作最高妙、最厚重、最含蓄的深层思考。因此,只有对其人文精神的研究才具有真正的科学价值和社会价值,并进而真正提高古代文学研究的学科价值。

The previous studies of the ancient literature stay on the superficial layers of common sociology, art for art's sake and cultural background. In fact, the essence of the studies of the ancient literature lies in the most brilliant, most in-depth and most implicative interpretation of its philosophy, its perspectives of society and value, and its ideas of nature and space. It is the study of its humanism that endows the studies of the ancient culture with real scientific and social values, and thus raise the subject value of the studies of the ancient literature.
