Ruskin Bond,a contemporary Indian writer of British descent,has long loved nature and devoted himself to the cause of children’s literature."Children and Nature"is a recurring theme in most of his works.In the children’s novel The Room on the Roof and its sequel Vagrants in the Valley,Bond wrote much about nature and children’s growing-up experiences in nature.Nature sometimes plays a role in reflecting children’s emotions and moving the plot forward,sometimes it has a positive impact on soothing children’s soul,shaping children’s personality and promoting children’s healthy growth.
