A Survey on the Structure of Official Promotion System in the Tang Dynasty

本文以汉以来有关变化的背景，讨论了吏道和科举在唐代所具有的新的地位和性质，以及其它各种仕途的相应分化和调整。这些事态体现了自汉至唐文官选拔制度的转折及其长远的影响。本文旨在更切实际地揭示我国古代诸仕途的结构关系。

This paper has discussed the new role and properties of the imperial examination and officil promotion starting from office workers and the corresponding differentiation and regulation of other official elections through bureaucrat paths in the Tang Dynasty and the background of related changes since the Han Dynasty which is an exhibition of the transition of civil official promotion system and its profound influence between the two dynasties. It has revealed practical structural relationships between the different civil official promotion systems in ancient China and provided a new analytical frame for related research in this field.
