Approaching the Souree of Changjing——Travel notes from first team of women to drift down th River

ON August 21,1998,the first women’s teamattempting to float down from the source of theChangjiang River started from Chengdu,SichuanProvince.We drove towards the west and traversed theSongpan grassland,going deep into the Qinghai-TibetanPlateau along the Zoige,Xining and Golmud routes.OnSeptember 11,we arrived at the source of the ChangjiangRiver-the foot of the snow-covered GeladaindongMountain.On September 26,all members of the team,traveling either by land or by water,safely assembled bythe Tuotuo River.
