The numbers of farmers in-terested in learning about human reproduction,living healthy,well-balanced lives,improving standards of living and education,and finding out more about technological pro-duction,are growing daily.They thoroughly approve of,hence sup-port,the new methods,and these methods have also gone a long way toward improving relations between officials and the people.Song Jiyin,who used to be the family planning official for his village,infuriated his neighbors so much by his uncouth manner,they destroyed his fruit trees and vegetable garden on sev-eral occasions.He finally set things right with the community last year by applying the I new,method of combining family planning with economic benefits:he set up a car-pet factory that employed 33 wom-en from single-child families.
