This past March,an investigation group led by Dainzin,general secretary of the Communist Par-ty Committee of Tibet,arrived in Gongbo'gyamda County,the Tibet Autonomous Region.0ver the following month,the group carefully delved into just how the county,which had long been known for its poverty,had experienced a boom cyCle in recent years.T he group prepared several reports demonstrating how the Tibetan economy,long characterized by agriculture and animal husban-dry,has adapted to the new conditions of the market economy.
