Righteousness and advantage——The Relation between Righteousness and Advantage in Chinese Traditional Ethic Thought History and Contemporary Considering Cautiously

在中国传统伦理思想史中,义利关系是备受思想家们关注的一个重要议题。处理义利关系的不同主张在《国语》、《左传》已现端倪。在漫长的处理义利关系的实践和思考中,形成了义之至上、利之优先及义利相和三种处理义利关系的不同模式。任何一种模式都程度不同的为现代人处理义利关系提供了相关智慧。

In Chinese traditional ethic thought history, the relation between righteousness and advantage is so important a subject that many scholars pay close attention to it. So different propositions of dealing with the relation between the two had been showed in Guoyu and Zuoahuan. During the practice and thinking for a long time, there formed three different patterns: righteousness is the supreme, advantage is the highest and supplement each other, each pattern provides interrelated wisdom for modern people in varying degree.
