Self-contradictory ego——The analysis of contradictory state of Mrs. Dalloway

在伍尔夫的代表作之一《达罗卫夫人》中,伍尔夫尝试了意识流的各种技巧,成功而多侧面地塑造了达罗卫夫人的形象以及她矛盾的生存状态。造成她这种生存状态的原因既有外因方面的,也有内因方面的。达罗卫夫人形象的成功塑造正好实践了伍尔夫摈弃“物质小说”而写“精神小说”的理论主张。

In one of Virginia Woolf’s representative works Mrs. Dalloway, Woolf had tried all kinds of skills of stream of consciousness and created successfully the image of Mrs. Dalloway as well as her contradictory state of being .The causes of her state of being included both external factors and internal factors .The successful creation of the image of Mrs. Dalloway put Virginia Woolf’s theory of writing “mind novels” instead of “material novels” into practice.
