The linguistic and pragmatic analysis reveals that both forms have two understandings and the social context has affected their correct comprehension. Along with the development of education and the increasing emergence of such universities, the form of ＂university of technology＂ will become recommendable for it has been gaining wide acceptance throughout the English world.
