Discussion on the Modes of Geographic Information Public Serving Platform

目前地理信息公共服务平台发展的瓶颈是信息维护和更新。地理信息公共服务平台有3种模式,即信息集中存放和集中维护、集中存放和分布维护、分布存放和分布维护,其中第二种模式能在现有的条件下较好地解决信息维护问题。应当建立一系列基于分布维护的兼顾公众、企业和政府的地理信息服务平台,使我国的地理信息公共服务进入一个新的时代。

At present, information maintenance and revision have been the bottlenecks for the development of geographic information public serving platform. There are three modes about geographic information public serving platform, they are information centralized storage and maintenance, information centralized storage and distributed maintenance, information distributed storage and maintenance. Among the three modes, the problem of information maintenance could he solved very well through using the second mode under available conditions. So building a series of platform of geographic information for public, company and government based on the distributed maintenance, could make our country＇s geographic information public serving enter into a new era.
