The New Curriculum Standard for English at Secondary Level and Task-based Approach have initiated much attention to and concern in research and practice in cooperative learning. While the advantages of cooperative learning groups are widely acknowledged, we must be careful with constructing and implementing cooperative learning in small groups in the classroom so as to ensure their efficiency and practicality.
