Seven compexes of 3 nitroacetophenone thiosemicarbzone (HL) with Cu,Zn,Co,Ni ion were synthesized and characterized.The antibacterial activities of the ligand and complexes were investigated.The results reveal that the metal ions are coordinated with HL through the imide N atom and thiocarbonyl S atom to form chelates.All the complexes exhibit higher antibacterial activities as compared with the free ligand.The antibacterial activities increased by 10-2562 folds as strong as free ligand.
