光WDM系统用Mach Zehnder型滤波器新结构研究

摘要 提出一种马赫曾德型(简记为MZ型)滤波器的级联的新结构,即让各个MZ型滤波器的耦合长度符合二项式分布,以降低滤波器的旁瓣电平,同时在MZ干涉计的短臂上引入一个共振环,改进了滤波器的过渡带和通带特性。理论设计和计算机模拟表明,这种新型滤波器具有理想的带通特性。 As ideal optical passband characteristics become increasingly important in optical systems, we propose a novel MachZehnder (MZ) seriesconnected filter. The filter′s coupler length is designed in accordance with twoterm distribution to decrease filter′s sidelobe. And a resonant ring is also placed on the MZ interferometer′s short arm so that the filter′s transit band and spectra characteristics are much improved. We obtain a transit band of nearly rectangular shape and thus approach fairly well the ideal rectangular shape. Our filter is expected to be useful in any optical Wavelength Division Multiplexed(WDM) system.
