MAO Ze-dong's Awareness of His Mistakes in "Cultural Revolution" and Corrections of Them in His Late Years

毛泽东生前虽然总体肯定"文革",但在"文革"进行过程中,也逐渐认识到"文革"是他闯了"大祸":最大的错误就在于"打倒一切,全面内战"。继而实施了系列纠正"文革"错误的政治措施,这些措施为党和全国人民揭露、批判、粉碎林彪、江青两个反党集团奠定了坚实的政治基础,也为形成以邓小平为核心的第二代中央领导集体奠定了群众基础。

Though MAO Ze dong generally affirmed ＂Cultural Revolution＂ before his death, in the development of the revolution, he came to realize that he had made a big mistake. His biggest mistake was his announcement of ＂Beating down all and launching a civil war in the whole country＂. Thereafter, he took some political measures to correct his mistakes. These measures laid a solid basis for criticizing and smashing the two anti-communist party clans led by I.IN Biao and JIANG Qing re- spectively. And they also laid the foundation for the formation of second-generation leading group around DENG Xiao ping.
