The New Interpretation of “Tai Yang San Zu Wu”

“太阳三足乌”图案是古代东夷内部两大集团——日部族和鸟部族——图腾徽志的合一,是东夷内部通过战争与婚姻整合的社会事实投入到神话传说中的结果。此外,本文一反释“日”为象形文字的说法,提出了“日”为会意字说,并对作为性秽语“日”字的文化内涵进行了分析。

The pattern of Tai Yang San Zu Wu （sun-bird with three legs） is a combination of two totem emblems of the sun tribe and the bird tribe in ancient Dong yi, which reflects in mythology and legend the integration of the sun tribe and the bird tribe by means of war and marriage. In addition, this paper insists that “日” should be not a pictograph, but a lo- gical aggregate, and it further analyses the sexual cultural meaning embodied in the character of “日”.
