陈垣出任辅仁大学副校长、校长达26年,他是辅大的精神领袖。他坚守中西文化会通的办学宗旨,始终坚持严格办学和注重培养学生的研究能力;在学术方法上强调做"窄而深"的研究;在态度上要求必须"谦虚审慎"。

Chen Yuan as a scholar had hold private Fu Jen University in Beijing for 26 years.Chen was a president and did not routine,but he had become a banner and spiritual leader.He adhered to the center of East and West culture,strict on school and focused on research capacity for students.He emphasis to narrow and deep on academic research,and must be cautious in the attitude.
