摘要
用光束传播方法 (BPM )对集成光学无间隙指向耦合器型TM/TE模分离器的理论模型进行了仔细的分析 ,通过结构参数的优化 ,设计了一种模分离器 ,理论计算TM模和TE模分离比优于 40dB。同时制作了相应的器件 ,测试结果表明 :TM模和TE模分离比分别达到 2 8dB和 2 5dB。
An advanced polarization splitter with directional coupler has been proposed for use in integrated optical circuits on LiNbO3, and a detailed theoretical analysis has been given. The power splitting ratio of the polarization splitter has been calculated by using 2D-beam propagation method (BPM). In theory, the power splitting ratios of the TM mode and TE mode though the splitter are both above 40 dB. At the same time, some polarization splitters have been actually fabricated. And the power splitting ratios of the TM mode and TE mode are 28 dB and 25 dB, respectively.
