Objective To explore clinical effect of breast dredging in treatment of early postpartum mastitis. Methods 128 patients with early postpartum mastitis who were treated in clinics of our hospital from October 2014 to April 2015 were selected and they were randomly allocated to the experimental group and the control group, with 64 in each. The experimental group was treated by breast dredging while the control group was treated by traditional methods including local hot-wet compression, breast pump to suck milk, mirabilite external compression of mass and so on. Treatment lasted for 3 days. Curative effect of two groups was observed. Results Total effective rates of treatment of puerperal in the experimental group and the control group were 100% and 87.5% respectively. The difference was statistically significant(P〈 0.05). After observation, it was found that lump dissipation, acesodyne, smooth draining time of the experimental group were all significantly superior to those of the control group. Difference between two groups has statistical significance(P〈 0.05). And the difference between two groups was statistically significant(P〈 0.05). Conclusion Breast dredging is an effective non-invasive method to treat early postpartum mastitis. In addition, lump dissipation, acesodyne and the cooling effect of it were more significant than those of traditional methods including local hot-wet compression, breast pump to suck milk, mirabilite external compression of mass and so on.
