Application of PlantFactory 3D Model in Pharmaceutical Botany Teaching

目的研究并建立一种有助于学生对植物真实形态多方位观察和理解的方法,同时也可制作三维场景动画以呈现十字花科植物菘蓝的生长过程,并应用于植物学的教学当中。方法利用PlantFactory等软件对菘蓝进行3D模型的构建,并将其导入教学课件进行应用。结果应用PlantFactory、Photoshop、Crazybump等软件对菘蓝建立的3D模型,立体形象地展示了十字花科植物的叶特征(叶形、叶缘、叶基、叶序等)、花特征(花冠外形、雄蕊类型、子房位置)。既能导出为fbx格式,使用FBX viewer在三维空间完整展示其静态形态特征,亦能将其转成tpf格式,再利用VUE Stream导出为生长动画视频。结论 PlantFactory 3D模型的建立对植物形态的多方位展示起到了极大的作用,为药用植物学教学提供了新的教学形式。

Objective To study and establish a method that can help students to observe and understand the true form of the plant from multi-directions.Meanwhile,it can also make 3D scene animation to show the growth process of Cruciferous plant Isatis Indigotica.Then the method will be applied in botany teaching.Methods PlantFactory was used to build 3D model of Isatis Indigotica,then the model was imported into teaching courseware.Results With 3D model of Isatis indigotica which was established by using PlantFactory,Photoshop,Crazybump,the stereoscopic image of the leaves(leaf shape,leaf edge,leaf base,leaf order,etc.)and flower characteristics(corolla shape,stamen type,ovary position)were visually displayed.By using FBX viewer,the static morphological features were fully displayed in 3D space.It could be exported in fbx format and transferred in tpf format,and finally exported into a growth animation video through VUE Stream.Conclusion The establishment of PlantFactory 3D model plays a key role in the multi-directional display of plant morphology,and provides a new form of teaching for pharmaceutical botany teaching.
