《汉语大词典》对“阁”设立多个义项,其中“官署”义与其他意义不在同一个引申脉络之中。研究得出,“阁”作为“閤”的形近且音近字,代替了“闺閤”等词中的“閤”,从此,表示“中央官署名”的“閤”写成了“阁”字并固定下来。

There are many interpretations of“ge(阁)”in HanYu DaCiDian(《汉语大词典》),among which the meaning of“government offices(官署)”is not in the same extended context as other meanings.The analysis shows that,in form and pronunciation,“ge(阁)”is similar to“he(閤)”,therefore,it replaced“he(閤)”in the word“boudoir(闺閤)”,and“he(閤)”which means“central government offices”was also represented by“ge(阁)”,and this usage was fixed.
