Professor Feng Xian-zhang′s Experience of Treating Chronic Urticaria from Wind

冯宪章教授认为,慢性荨麻疹初期发病以实证为主,病因主要为风、寒、热、痰、湿、瘀;后期则以虚证为主,需扶正祛邪。风邪兼夹寒邪、热邪则成风寒证、风热证;湿邪为病,易与热邪合而为湿热蕴结,病久脾胃损伤,脾虚湿停,湿热内生,日久灼津炼痰。冯教授以此为据,确立了"宣肺散寒,祛风止痒""清热透表,疏风止痒""平肝熄风,疏肝解郁"等治法。同时,冯教授强调在遣方用药时应注重因人、因时、因地制宜;并根据疾病特点,主张"祛风止痒"贯穿始终。除了治疗外,还需注重生活作息规律、饮食清淡、调整睡眠、调节情绪,从而促进疾病痊愈。

Professor Feng Xian-zhang believes that the early onset of chronic urticaria is mainly marked by excess syndrome,and the main causes are wind,cold,heat,phlegm,dampness and blood stasis.In the later stage,deficiency syndrome is the main syndrome,which needs to strengthen healthy qi and dispel pathogens.If wind pathogen is mixed with cold pathogen or heat pathogen,it will become wind-cold syndrome or wind-heat syndrome.Dampness pathogen is a kind of disease,which is easy to combine with heat pathogen to accumulate dampness and heat.If the disease lasts for a long time,the spleen and stomach will be damaged,the spleen deficiency and dampness retention will appear,the dampness and heat will be endogenous,burning the body fluid and causing phlegm.Based on this,Professor Feng has established the treatment methods of"ventilating the lung,dispersing cold,eliminating wind and relieving itching","clearing heat and expelling pathogens through the exterior,dispersing wind and relieving itching","pacifying the liver to extinguish wind,soothing the liver and relieving depression".At the same time,Professor Feng stresses that when giving prescriptions,it is necessary to treat according to individual,time,and place.According to the characteristics of the disease,"dispelling wind and relieving itching"is advocated throughout the whole course.In addition to treatment,patients also need to pay attention to the regularity of life and rest,light diet,adjust sleep and regulate mood,so as to promote the recovery of the disease.
