This paper introduces the background and significance of the revision of GB/T 18916.1-2021,Norm of water intake-Part 1:Thermal power production.The similarities and differences between the 2021 edition and the 2012 edition of the standard are explained in detail through the comparison of the scope of application,statistical range of water intake,and requirements of quantity of water intake for unit power generation quantity,etc.,in order to enable relevant professionals of thermal power plant to understand the standard.
