It comprehensively analyzes the definition,market and healthcare insurance access of medical consumables',as well as its characteristics.Suggestions about management and payment of medical consumables were put forward based on current reform status and basic practices of medical consumables in China:(1)the medical consumables payment reform should be managed according to the general name,(2)uniforming product safety and quality standards,(3)classification and setting of new medical consumables market access and medical insurance access channels,(4)establishing health insurance access system based on health technology assessment.
