Building a modern industrial system is a pivotal strategic task to promote Chinese-style modernization and a significant component of the theoretical system of Chinese-style modernization.Based on both industrial economics and Chinese-style modernization theories,this approach constructs a double helix integrating instrumental rationality and value rationality,deconstructing the core of the modern industrial system.This reveals that the modern industrial system realizes the transition of the industrial development from capitalistic logic of capital,scale,and wealth production to the Chinese-style modernization logic centered on humanism,quality,and fundamental safety.The system possesses the connotation characteristics of systematic coordination,efficient integration,multilayered distribution,evolution with the times,distinctive heterogeneity,etc.More than just a scientific theory,it embodies a development practice,dispelling the misconception of“Modern industrial system=Westernized industrial system”.It covers multiple dimensions of the industrial system,such as industrial growth,factor-driven strategies,industrial innovation,industrial structure,industrial layout,industrial organization,industrial policies,as well as various aspects of Chinese-style modernization,which includes objectives,positions,value orientation,primary tasks,strategic support,and essential requirements.This is a crucial part of the nation’s modernization,a key indicator of economic modernization,and a material and technical foundation for building a comprehensively strong and modernized socialist country.
