As a new model for exploring smart city governance at present, digital twin cities essentially use intelligent technology to accurately replicate real physical cities in virtual space, simulate, predict and intervene in the operation and governance of cities with cloned twin cities. Its main advantage is to create a comprehensive process intelligence that combines system intelligence and intervention intelligence, forming an intelligent governance structure of“panoramic mapping”,“ultimate visualization”,“virtual reality fusion”and“instant interactions”.The rapid development of digital twin cities is bringing about a new round of urban governance revolution, but it also faces many challenges, such as the dilemma of digital technology development, the dilemma of virtual reality integration, and the dilemma of real governance coordination. Therefore,it must be emphasized that the underlying logic of digital twin cities is the continuous deepening of the human nature of the city.Only when the technological means and humanistic care can progress together, can the development of the city continuously meet the growing needs of people for a better life, and truly transform the modernization achievements of the urban governance system into the continuous improvement of the quality of life.
