On the English Translation of Shaanxi Snacks from the Perspective of Skopos Theory

Shaanxi province has increasingly extended its opening-up to the outside world since the strategy of developing the Western regions of continental China was implemented.Among the developing businesses are Shaanxi snacks which are part of everyday life in Shaanxi,therefore the English translation of Shaanxi snacks should be considered as no lesser than any other cultural translation.This thesis discusses the English translation of Shaanxi snacks following the outline of the German functionalist,Skopos Theory.This paper will suggest more suitable translation strategies while amplifying translation choices which could be easily adopted in place of the erroneous translations.This thesis aims to raise people's awareness on the English translation of Shaanxi snacks.
