研究中国传统史学思想对于建设有中国民族特色的历史学有着十分重要的意义。史学思想研究展示中国史学思想的丰富性、深邃性,这可以使人们更好地认识中国历史学在世界史学上的重要地位,增强我们的民族自豪感。古代史学思想研究,从思维方式上认识传统史学的民族特点,对于增强民族的凝聚力有着重要的意义。发掘史学的民族精神,是从深层次上理解传统史学所具有的现代价值。传统史学有着深厚的内涵:关心民族盛衰和人类历史的命运,以通变思想认识历史变革的必要性;在讨论历史发展的动力时,特别强调重民的民本思想,在治史上突出经世史学的主张。这些都是民族史学的珍宝。我们应当从时代高度重视古代史学思想的研究,把社会与史学联系在一起,把时代思潮、哲学与史学联系在一起,把经、子与史联系起来进行研究,把微观研究与宏观考察结合起来,思考21世纪史学发展的问题。

It is important and significant for researching traditional thoughts of history to build the historiography of national characteristics and to show enrichment and profoundness of historical thoughts in China,which urges us to understand the great status of Chinese historiography around the world in a more excellent way,to seek elite of antiquity traditional historiography in China,and to boost up the national pride and cohesion.Especially according to the thinking mode,to analyse traditiongal historiography has a greater meaning for comprehending the value of modern times.Traditional historiography incarnating the meaning of Nationalities involves the views:conerning the vicissitude of history and destiny of humanity,knowing the necessity about reform as historical thoughts of going about changing mind,emphasizing important roles of people to push history ahead,which above all is the treasures of thoughts of national historography.We study the thoughts of traditional historiography based on the contemporary era,to combine the studies of historiography with society,studies of history with philosophy and studies of history with the Classic Books,to practice principle for today's need,to study not only microcosmic history but also macroscopical history so as to promote the historical study in the 21st Century.
